Colour and shoes are two irresistible things—and together, they’re a dangerous combination. Be forewarned: you may leave the Giorgia Spagnoletto shop with a suitcase (or two) of new shoes. That’s exactly what happened to two Australian visitors the day I stopped in to take pictures.
Giorgia Spagnoletto has a deep and abiding passion for shoes and has dedicated her professional life to indulging that enthusiasm—and sharing it with her customers. Before opening her own shop, she worked for years in the footwear industry, gaining experience across both retail and production. In 2007, she opened her first boutique in Campo de’ Fiori. Since 2019, she has been based just a short walk away, near Largo Argentina, in one of the oldest and most charming parts of Rome.
She firmly believes in the power of colour and craftsmanship. Her boutique reflects not only her personal style but also her strong connection to Italian artisanal tradition. Giorgia collaborates with master shoemakers in the Marche region—Italy’s renowned hub for footwear manufacturing—where each pair is produced with meticulous attention to detail. Her collections feature high-quality leathers, playful and unexpected colour combinations, and styles that balance everyday practicality with elegance.
She also listens. When I asked why no one in Rome seemed to make a more durable version of the Venetian Friuliani slipper, Giorgia was the first to follow through. Her version is made with a sturdier monoblock sole—comfortable enough for Rome’s sampietrini and rainy days—without sacrificing the charm of the original design.
What makes the experience truly memorable, though, is the level of personalised service she offers. In-store, clients are invited to take part in the creative process. When I visited, she let me choose the model, the leather, the colour, the sole, and the accessory for my pair—making the whole experience both creative and fun. It’s this blend of customisation and connection that sets her boutique apart.
Today, personalisation extends beyond the shop floor. While full customisation still happens in-store, clients can now start the process online—selecting from a wide range of models, colours, leathers, and finishes. Whether you’re shopping from Rome or from abroad, Giorgia offers personal support through her website and Instagram, where she has built a loyal following and continues to respond directly to client requests.
